In the fast-paced, ever-evolving landscape of business, the ability to make rapid and effective decisions is paramount. And then convert the decisions into actions which bring one closer to the envisioned ideal conditions. One valuable tool that has gained recognition for its efficacy in decision-making is the OODA loop: Observe, Orient, Decide, Act.
Observe: Gather as much raw information as possible about the situation from all available sources. This includes immediate surroundings, potential threats, and new information.
Orient: Analyse and synthesise the observed information, giving it context. This involves using your cultural background, past experiences, new data, and analytical skills to understand the situation. This is the most crucial step, as it shapes your perception of reality.
Decide: Based on your orientation, formulate a hypothesis or a potential course of action. This is where you make an informed choice to move forward.
Act: Implement the decision you made. The action you take will then generate new data, which feeds back into the "Observe" phase, restarting the loop. The cycle is continuous, allowing for ongoing refinement and adaptation.
Implementation process
A functional implementation of Fusion Applications typically includes the steps: Plan, Configure, Setup, Deploy, Maintain.
Plan: Identify the offerings you want to implement. Evaluate what functional areas and features to opt in to and prepare accordingly for their setup requirements.
Configure: Opt in to the offerings, functional areas, and features that best fit your business requirements by enabling them.
Setup: Use setup tasks to enter setup data necessary for your enabled offerings and functional areas. Typically, you set up and verify your transaction processes in a test environment before starting to transact in a production environment. Oracle Fusion HCM Cloud offers a standardised application configuration and setup experience, feature opt-in for a best fit configuration, guided task list for end-to-end setup requirements, export and import services for setup data migration between environments, comprehensive reporting on setup data.
Maintain: Update setup data or opt in to configuration of the functional areas and features as necessary when your business requirements change over time.
